About the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff
The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) is a distinguished 1890 Land-Grant HBCU, recognized for its diverse student body, outstanding academic programs, and dedicated faculty.
For over 140 years, UAPB has fostered an environment focused on learning, personal growth, and achievement. Our 15:1 student-to-faculty ratio ensures close mentorship and meaningful connections between students and professors, while our rigorous curriculum encourages every student to reach their full potential.
UAPB offers a wide range of academic opportunities, including certificate and associate degree programs, more than thirty undergraduate majors, master’s degrees, and a doctoral program in Aquaculture/Fisheries. Students can also gain valuable professional experience through internships, co-ops, and fellowships both in the U.S. and abroad.
Outside the classroom, UAPB students can get involved in over 90 student organizations, including our internationally renowned Vesper Choir, acclaimed Marching Band and Concert Bands, Wind Symphony, nationally recognized debate team, award-winning theater department, and competitive athletic program.
Though our main campus is based in Pine Bluff, UAPB’s impact is global. We offer an extended campus in North Little Rock and a variety of online courses, connecting students to a world of opportunities. Through the Arkansas Research and Education Optical Network (ARE-ON), students engage in global information exchange. Our Research and Extension offices in Lonoke, Newport, and Lake Village, along with collaborations like the NSF-funded STEM Academy, further expand learning and research possibilities.
Aspiring entrepreneurs can take advantage of the UAPB-ERDC Business Support Incubator at 615 South Main Street, a full-service business and economic development outreach center.
As Arkansas’s second-oldest land-grant institution, UAPB’s mission remains unchanged: to deliver high-quality, affordable education with a personal touch. We invite you to become a part of the Pride at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff.
